Discover Portofino

Portofino

Visiting Portofino, a typical seaside village and the symbol of Liguria and tourism in the Mediterranean, is a must for those visiting Chiavari and Tigullio. The village is world famous for its unparalleled beauty, luxury yachts and high-fashion boutiques.
Suggestive are the walks around the village, such as the footpath that climbs from the famous piazzetta towards the Brown Castle with its park surrounded by greenery, up to the lighthouse: from here, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the beautiful bay. First stop is the Church of San Giorgio (12th century), the patron saint of Portofino, celebrated on 23 April with the traditional bonfire in the Piazzetta.
It is possible to reach Portofino by car or by train: if you choose the train, starting from Chiavari you have to get off at the Santa Margherita Ligure stop and reach Portofino by bus.
Portofino can also be reached by sea with boats that leave from April to October from the port of Chiavari or, more frequently, from the Rapallo and Santa Margherita Ligure sea promenade.
