Portofino

Visiting Portofino, a typical seaside village and symbol of Liguria and tourism in the Mediterranean, is a must for those visiting Chiavari and the Tigullio region. The village is world-famous for its unparalleled beauty, luxury yachts and high-fashion boutiques.
Suggestive are the walks through the village, such as the pedestrian path that climbs from the famous small square to the Brown Castle with its park surrounded by greenery, up to the lighthouse: from here it is possible to enjoy a breathtaking view of the beautiful bay. First stop is the Church of St. George (12th century), the patron saint of Portofino, celebrated on April 23 with the traditional bonfire in the Piazzetta.
You can reach Portofino by car or by train: if the train is the option of choice, leaving from Chiavari you must get off at the Santa Margherita Ligure stop and reach Portofino by bus.
Portofino can also be reached by sea with boats that leave from April to October from the port of Chiavari or, more frequently, from the Rapallo and Santa Margherita Ligure boardwalks.
